Description
City Mutual Building, a 12 storey office block; completed in 1936 with two levels of basement parking for 21 cars. An art-deco tower designed by Emil Sodersteen. The owner was awarded 4,981 sqm of transferable heritage floor space in March 1989. A complete refurbishment of the building, by joint venture partners Comrealty Ltd and Yamamoto Pty Ltd, began in late 1989 and was completed in early 1994. The refurbishment included marble and granite restoration, scagliola resurfacing and bronze and brasswork. The building was again being extensively refurbished in August 2005.
