Art Show Partitioning hires out partitions (panels) to use in running an art show. Art show organisers arrange well in advance to hire the panels usually for a few days but it can be longer. We have a basic hire fee for up to a week, and a small daily charge for longer than a week. The pricing is per panel.

This business operates from our garage at home. We have a website but do not advertise at all apart from Google advertising (less than $10 for all of 2008). Bookings arise from repeat customers, or word-of-mouth, or from the internet (where most new customers find out about us).

We do not deliver or setup, although there were some jobs last year where we arranged for the setting up to be done. The delivery couriers often make as much or more out of a job as we do as our rates are very moderate (definitely the budget end). Thus if you have a van or the ability to deliver, that revenue would all go to you. Likewise if you can do the setting up that would be added income compared with how we currently operate.

The business is not location dependent - we have customers right across Melbourne and even further afield, such as Melton, Cranbourne, Torquay, Wantirna, Fairfield, Flinders. So you can operate this business from just about anywhere in Melbourne.

In a practical sense, you would need about one carspace of space to store the panels and posts.
