Welcome to my salons. My name is Sam Penny, and I established Universal Hair Salons just 3 years ago. In that time, we have built a brilliant clientele, loyal staff, a strong brand & a platform for growth. I have two salons for sale in Buderim and Maroochydore. They can be sold together or separate. Individually they are $149,000.
Firstly, I am not a hairdresser. But I had a vision. I established Universal as I recognised that there was no real quality salon in the region that focused on the client. Our aim isn't to do great hair (even though we are outstanding), our aim is to make our clients feel good. Everyday we welcome our beautiful clients into our salon, we give them our famous aromatherapy & massage ritual and relax them. By the time they are finished with us, they walk out the door confident, ready to get on with their busy lives. It's not just about their hair, it's about how it makes them feel and how we can contribute to that. Both salons have managers and are self managing due to our systems and processes that we have put in place.
Our staff are all hand picked and undergo a rigorous trial process to ensure they suit our professional culture, but also that they can do amazing hair. We hire firstly on the attitude of the stylist. We all work as a team and we are proud of that. We don't promote 'stars' or celebrity stylists. Our team are better than that. Ego's don't have a place here, and our clients and team appreciate that. This is a very supportive environment where everyone works together and encourage each other. This is the culture that is ingrained in Universal and will continue to thrive.
These salons have been designed for growth. Both are only at 50% capacity but have all the tools in place see them grow to million dollar salons. Their management systems are all web-based to allow for remote monitoring and controlling. The website and Facebook page are very extensive and account for 100% of our marketing. We have tried everything and now know what really works. Being a marketing expert, I will show you exactly what I do if you decide to purchase either salon. My methods are proven for growth. I also believe in simplicity so what I will teach you is so easy, but no body does this better than me. The website and Facebook page will preferably be sold with the Buderim Salon if the salons aren't sold together, but this is negotiable.
As the salons were only created from scratch 3years ago, everything looks and feels new. There is absolutely nothing that needs to be done. They have been designed with taste and a minimalist appearance, but certainly allows for you to apply your touch and style.
Buderim Salon is located in its own building with beautiful gardens and on site parking. We are the only business in the main street of Buderim that occupies our own building. The salon has 2 beauty rooms, spray-tan room, nail table, make-up bar and 12 hair stations. The basin room is separate from the main floor to add to the clients peaceful time of a shampoo and scalp massage. On top of all this, it has a massive office in the rear, two bathrooms and three rooms that are currently not being used (or rented out).
Maroochydore Salon is perhaps one of the most stunning hair salons in the country occupying an old wooden church. The 'Church' has beautiful polished wood floors. All furniture can be moved to make way for events and utilise our commercial sound system. Our biggest event was for 200 fashion buyers who were all seated while 20 designers and 20 models strutted their stuff. The four basins are in a separate room to usher the cleint away from the noise of the main floor. The two toilets are the old confessionals which always adds to the charm of this place. The stage is currently sub-leased to a beauty college & generates a nice income. March's income for this salon was the biggest this Financial Year, including Christmas!
For both salons, the average client ticket is around $150 which represents a high proportion of colour clients. We don't focus on high volume, but high quality colour and cutting work. Having such a high ticket means that we do not require a high staff level. Clients tend to book which makes rostering and managing the week easy.
These are seriously great salons that you will have so much joy in owning. I am proud of what I have created, but have to sell them for personal reasons. I love Universal.
